This Joy I Have, the World didn’t Give It.

When I look over my life and think of the years that I have been on this earth I think of the goodness of the Lord and how He has kept me. If it had not been for Jesus who is on my side, where would I be? On this journey called life there has been joy, unspeakable joy that I have experienced that I can’t describe in the mist of betrayal, heartache, death of loved ones, disappointments, fear, lies, and those are some of my days but then, I close my eyes to go to bed and I am blessed enough to wake up in the morning and there is joy, (Psalm 30:5b Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.) is God’s promise to us his children. I came across that scripture and I am like a magnet to it whenever there are any negative emotions that arise in my life.

The question I ask is, do you know what joy is? We talk about this feeling or emotion, but do we really know how to define this intangible thing that we can not touch. Joy is defined as a noun, a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. But when we speak of the joy that comes from the Lord, who is our creator, then the question is What is the joy of the Lord? It’s simple, it’s the road to restoration.

Denouncing guilt and shame the very things that the enemy wants us to feel but these feelings do not come from God and when you fully understand that guilt and shame is a device of the enemy to keep you from the best that God has for your life then you can begin to weep in joy. Joy welcomes in celebration for all that is good in your life yesterday, today and tomorrow. God is forgiving, compassionate and loving. God sent Jesus to let us know that He is in love with us. Our Joy rests on God's joy. You can rest in knowing that joy is a gift from God. John 15:11 “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”

We have the freedom to command our day, so why not Choose Joy every day of your life! Choosing joy Improves your chances of living a longer life. Separate yourself from things that stresses you out. Separate yourself from some things and people. Don't let folks kill you by robbing you of your joy. Starting today, decree and declare that “I'm going to live the rest of my life stress free and full of Joy.”
