Taming of the Tongue.
Proverbs 12:18 ESV. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. Proverbs 18:21 ESV. A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. The tongue can bring you joy or cause you misery. Proverbs 18:21: “The tongue has the power of life and death.” You have complete control of the things that comes out of your mouth. Your words can either speak life, or your words can speak death. Our tongues can build others up, or they can tear them down.
Sometimes you have to have a "Holy Ghost Hush" when you feel like you will say something that will cause harm to someone else. Be cautious to not hurt someone on purpose. Before you speak out of anger, stop, pause and think of the cost of your words. Can you afford to not speak positively. What will it cost you in the long run to speak out of anger and hurt.
Good, better, best, never let your tongue rest. Speak words that make your situation or circumstances better and continue to speak better until your better is best! Be kind and loving when it comes to using your words. Let your words be tender and uplifting. Speak with full authority and let the power of your words change lives for the greater. Pausing your tongue causes you to think before you speak.
