Knowing Who I Am

I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are His works; and my soul knows it very well.

There have been times in my life when I’ve felt lost or down about myself. There are times when negative voices in the world seem to speak louder than the voice of God. Circumstances or situations happen and I don't see myself like Jesus sees me and then the Holy Spirit will remind me of who Christ says I am and my identity in Him. Growing up, there were times I felt horrible I was picked on, talked about and I felt like I wasn’t pretty or smart enough to hang with the cool kids, I could not be in the same places as others. I did not know who I was as an individual, a young lady and I felt like I had to be with those that validated my worth, but who were they to determine my worth? Who gave them that power? Why was their acceptance so important to me? When you don’t know who you are and whose you are then you will look for people to validate you. Looking for validation from someone other than God can lead to other issues in life that can be passed from generation to generation if you do not take the necessary steps to get help.

I have learned that when I begin to feel like the issues of life is trying to over take me, I pray, I cry, I read the Word of God and I thank God for loving me so and for Him showing me that this that I’m feeling is not who I am in that moment, I have come to realize that everything we need is in the Word of God, the verses will speak life and truth into your life and give you peace and clarity to your situation. I have come to find that when I am not feeling so good about myself that when I pray and ask God to help me, because I do not have the strength to endure, He always shows me in His Word.

When you feel overwhelmed or discouraged about who you are, The Word of God that is written in the Bible Will speak life and truth into your life. Genesis 1:27 ~ “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

Jeremiah 1:5 ~“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

1 Peter 2:9 ~ “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.“

You are the expert of being you. You are in charge of your thoughts and you are your own personality. Independence and self-awareness are the confidence you walk in by knowing who you are. When you fully know and understand who you are and what you stand for in life will give you a sense of self-confidence that no one can take from you. Your goal in life is to know who you are and to fulfill your purpose that you were created to fulfill, knowing who you are and not who others think you should be gives you purpose, direction and a true sense of well-being. Knowing who you are and why you were created is the key to success and a healthy lifestyle.

Say it Loud, What’s your Name! Know Who You Are! Say It Loud! You Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made In His Image!
