I can Only Be ME!

I can only be the “me” that God created me to be!

Who are you?

Throughout the course of my life, there have been many labels placed upon me. The majority of those labels, I felt like didn’t apply to me. And there were many, many times that I would sit up and question why certain things were placed on me. At one point, I even started to try and identify with what others placed on my life. You may ask, well how well did that work out for you? I’m here to tell you that IT DIDN’T!

It didn’t work out for me because I was too fixated on what others said about me or the labels that they placed on me, instead of keeping my focus on who God purposed me to be. When we try to identify with who others say that we are, it’s a slap in the face to God. Why? When we do that we are saying back to God, I don’t identify with who you’ve created me to be!

Let’s take David as an example. If you read 1 Samuel 17, the story of David and Goliath, you’ll see throughout this story all the labels the people, including King Saul tries to place on David. They said that he was too young, just a boy, unskilled, and not able to go against the giant. King Saul went as far as even trying to place his personal armor on David, but it didn’t fit because it wasn’t meant for him! Let that part alone, minister to you! What others try and place on you won’t even fit who you are because it is not meant for you! David quickly removed King Saul’s armor and went forth with what God equipped him with! Although Goliath was a giant in the natural, David was a giant in the spirit and out ranked him!

David went forth and could only be him! Just imagine how weighed down if he would have showed up to that battle carrying all that others place on him?? I encourage you to remove anything that you’ve allowed to hinder who God created you to be! When I realized this for myself, my entire life shifted! I began to remove the labels day after day to fully operate in being ME, the ME that God created and purposed me to be! And you can do the same!

Be true, be YOU,
