So high I could touch the sky! When you hear those words you probably think about the movie starring Redman and Method Man. Their characters were two young men who wanted to ace the college entrance exam so they "smoked something magical" and in turn they aced the exam. But that is not the kind of high I am talking about. That high is temporary, superficial and in some cases deadly. I want to take you down a different path, one that comes from within. one that needs no introduction nor does it require outside stimulation; peace!
Our topic of discussion assigned was, "high on my own supply". Therefore, I decided to dissect the verbiage and ask the question, how high?
There is a song that says, "When peace like a river attendeth my way. When sorrows like sea billows roll. Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say. It is well, it is well with my soul." That is, how high! Life gets difficult, depression becomes real and life altering decisions began to flood our minds. But because I am often reminded that when sea billows roll, my soul begins to say, "it is well, it is well, it is well!" You see, that is a declaration that no matter how low I may be feeling or how worried I may become when I look up, I am reminded that this too shall pass! I dare you to look yourself in the mirror and say, "this too shall pass."
We must learn to reach beyond the break. We must learn to speak life into dead situations. We must learn to keep holding on and wait for the change to come. Now you may be wondering to yourself, what on earth that does that have to do with peace and being high? The peace that transcends my thinking allows me to see far beyond my current state of affairs. It pushes me outside of emotion and gives me a high level overview of what is to come, if I simply hold on!!!
The song continues on to say, "Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come. Let this blest assurance control. That Christ (yes, He has) has regarded my helpless estate. And has shed His own blood for my soul....whew!!! Just those simple words take me higher and get me closer to the arms My Savior. I dare you to take a moment and listen to the song and watch just how high you become on your own supply!!!
